Sugarcane bagasse, a byproduct of the sugar and ethanol production process, is fully reused. The electricity generated by burning it powers the mills and is also sold – a clean process that avoids the use of fossil fuels.
See below for the process of producing electricity.
AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION
Soil preparation and correction, planting, fertilization, fertigation, pest, disease and weed control are some of the various operations that make up the sugarcane production process, making it available in the appropriate quantity and quality for harvesting.
HARVEST
Our sugarcane fields are harvested using a mechanized process, utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as high-performance machines, high-precision GPS, 4G communication, among others.
TRANSPORT
Next, high-capacity trucks transport the sugarcane from the fields to the mills.
GRINDING
In the mills, the sugarcane is crushed to extract the sugarcane juice, which is used in the production of sugar and ethanol.
